The Highest Call

Start betting on the topdog with the highest call (low odds call) possible. A betmaker could do many things if he made a high call. It is a plus factor if a betmaker could project the betting odds of the fight as the roosters approach the pit. With experience one may anticipate a fight if what the resulting odds would be. Even the projection may be wrong, the betmaker could still do so much as long as he get a high call.

It is better if you experience it as you read along. We start with just low ammount of bets so computations would be easier. Now bet 1000 to 2000 pesos. Write what you bet on a piece of paper together with the odds (10-10, 10-9, 10-8, 11-8, 10-7 or 3-2(you may add other odds like 9-8 if your local cockpit have some)).

Ex 1- bet 1000 on 10-9 odds. Bet on the topdog.

The Underdog

Betting on the underdog is the second component. You may bet as soon as someone calls lower than what you had called earlier, if you somehow think that the calls will still go down you may wait for it. The objective is to bet on the underdog on a lower call than you made on the topdog (counterbetting on different odds).

Ex 2. continued – bet 700 on 10-7 odds. Bet on the underdog.

if the topdog wins – you win 900 and lost 700, giving you a 200 peso earning.

If somehow the underdog wins – you win 1000 and you lost 1000. giving you nothing. If you want to earn for what ever wins you need to add more bet on the underdog.

Ex 3. continued – bet 350 and 420 (better if you could bet 770 to a single person, but since 770 is unusual amount you may likely result to bet 350 and 420) on 10-7 odds. Bet on the underdog.

Now if the topdog wins – you win 900 and lost 770 (350 + 420), giving you a 130 peso earning.

And if the underdog wins – you win 1100 and lost 1000, giving you a 100 peso earning.

Even It So

In case you have not fully counterbet it all on a lower call and the calls got to the original call made. You just counterbet it with the original odds you made.

Ex 4. continued – bet 350 on 10 -7 odds. Bet on the underdog bet 450 on 10-9 odds bet on the underdog

Now if the topdog wins – you win 900 and lost 800 (350 + 450). giving you 100 peso earning.

And if the underdog wins – you win 1000 and lost 1000. giving you no earning.

Sharing (Pasama)

You may notice betmakers knows most betmakers around them. This is also a plus factor for sharing (pasama) the bet when you don’t want to counterbet with the same odds. Even to complete strangers sharing (pasama) is also done with no complications, besides the cockpit is full of strangers.

Ex 5. continued – bet 350 on 10 -7 odds. Bet on the underdog. Shared bet 500 on 10-9 odds bet on the topdog (shared bet).

Now if the topdog wins – you win 450. (you had shared 500 peso bet on the topdog) and lost 350. Giving you 100 peso earning.

And if the underdog wins – you win 500 (you had shared 500 peso bet on the topdog) and lost 500. giving you 100 peso earning.

You may also share your bet on different odds. Remember in our example we get a call of 10-9 odds, and we bet on the topdog.
When the calls gets lower, you may look for those calling and ask them if they want to share the bet. The sharing also helps them to finalize their call earlier, because you are asking to. This time instead betting 700 on the underdog, we share the 1000 bet on his currently calling odds 10-7.

Ex 6. continued – shared 1000 peso bet on 10-7 odds.

if the topdog wins – he wins 700 and you collect 900, giving you a 200 peso earning.

If somehow the underdog wins – he pays 1000 and you relay the 1000 peso. giving you nothing.

Wrong Computation

If somehow you made a wrong computation, ther is no problem if noticed earlier and there still a time to counterbet, just counterbet the remainder.

Ex 7. continued – bet 350 and 280 (better if you could bet 630 to a single person, but since 630 is unusual amount you may likely result to bet 350 and 280) on 10-7 odds. Bet on the underdog.

Now if the topdog wins – you win 900 and lost 630 (350 + 280), giving you a 270 peso earning.

And if the underdog wins – you win 900 and lost 1000, giving you a 100 peso lost. So if there still time you correct it by betting 140 on the underdog.

The corrected result will like in example 3.

If there is no time, you just add it to your experience. As experience build up. You compute bets faster and more accurate. Besides it doesnt hurt winning 270 peso with just 100 peso bet. In fact most bettakers have their own capital budget for such things. Sometimes they intend do it and sometimes it is just a mere mistake.

Experience

Aside from getting faster and more accurate computations, experience develops the skill on anticipating the odds that will takes place. Even projecting the shift of being the underdog to topdog. This shift may also cause some damage if not forseen earlier.

The underdog shifted to topdog for even odds. (remember you bet 1000 on the original topdog on a 10-9 odds). Counterbetting the 1000 on even odds is needed

If the original topdog wins – you win 900 and you lost 1000. giving you a lost of 100 peso.

If the original topdog lose – you win 1000 and you lost 1000. giving you nothing.

Application

You may do an oral simulation on your free time first before actually trying this in the cockpit. The practice of the computations, the scenarios will be more assessed. And after some time, you may practice it orally in the cockpit but not actually, you just simulate what ifs in the cockpit. You can therefore see if your computations and projections is fast enough and accurate. Do it after when you think that you are ready to try it. Start by 1000 only. With repetitive process, experience build up try for more amount. Until you can get to counterbet 5 digit figures or maybe 6 depending in your cockpit.
