Antioxidants for Gamefowls

Antioxidants on gamefowls – to make it short, generally they are substances that may prevent or delay some types of cell damage. These cell damages are accumulated over time and contributes to body deterioration (aging). These antioxidants are found in fruits, vegetables, derived from plant matters and in synthetically-made supplements.

Looks Young and Healthy yet Old

This is one of the reasons why it is needed to give the gamefowls antioxidants. Specially the breeding materials to prolong their use as well as the ones set aside for aging(programmed to be aged cocks). Give snacks of fruits or the pill-formed supplement with antioxidants. The same is the reason why people needs to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables or take the pill-formed ones.

Fruits and vegetables lowers the risk of having diseases, one reason is these foods are rich in antioxidants. Giving variety of surplus fruits in the farm as snacks will ensure the gamefowls are supplemented with these antioxidants together with other vital nutrients. There would only be surplus fruits if fruit production is integrated in the farm. And it would be economical and productive in the long run. Read Integrative Agriculture for more info.

The Antioxidants

These antioxidants would be vitamins a, c and e, copper and selenium(.

Overdosage or Inefficiency

Even so these antioxidants are very beneficial. Avoid giving thing more than they need or they can afford because it would turn into some form of toxins for the chickens. Just like the general rule they say “everything that is over is bad”.

So know the limits of the gamefowls. Regulate with this and avoid giving beyond the limits. As most breeders and handlers just put lots of different supplements to the gamefowls without knowing that they are already toxicating the gamefowls. Aside from this the resources are not utilized well as if the important antioxidants are thrown into nothing. We will continue on the amount limits of each vitamins and minerals.
